Today, 4 years ago, I was on a plane, heading to a 4 month adventure, that changed my life. My junior year in college, I had the opportunity to study abroad, living in Saintes, France, for 4 months. January-April. What a trip it was! Although my first day or so was a bit rocky for me (I thought I had made a mistake going to France right when I got off the plane with 6 others... especially when the security in the airport blew up some luggage near us... I cried that day, I was homesick already!) This was the best decision of my life. It changed the way I designed, they way I looked at life, and this trip also drew me closer to God, more than I ever could have imagined! We lived in France, and traveled as a group to Paris (2 times) Berlin, and a 10 day treck through Spain and Portugal, to many, small cities and towns. All were beautiful. I also went back to Paris 2 more times with a couple friends, took a train to Switzerland to visit my friends Joy and Jesse, and also went to Normandy, France, to visit all the historical markers, including the beaches of Normandy. All were amazing. All were memorable. I so want to go back to Europe one day with Jason. I have to get over my growing fear of flying, first... Enjoy some pictures, down memory lane...Our home, from the back court yard... my room is the 1st window on the left, second one down.
This is our studio space. Where we actually did school work. One of my favorite design projects in school too. This room was the only room heated during the day, so we spent most of our time in here, even when we didn't have to. It was COLD! At night, the heaters came on, though.
This is my view from my bedroom! It seemed like it rained every day in January. But come February, it was always bright and sunny! And, weird thing, I never, never heard thunder while I was there!
This is our entrance area. We lived in a beautiful, old, french home. I loved all its creakiness. The guy with the dreads on the left, that is Gerald, our professor. He is from the Bahamas, but has lived in the US, now lives in France, and speaks it fluently too!

This is "the cave" as we called it. This is in the basement, where we ate dinner all together every night, and had our french lessons. The food was so good there! Cheese!!!! bread!!!! Panini's!!!!! soo good... my mouth is watering...
