I (always) have a list of random projects to do, either to craft up, or to fix, or re-do in the house. Lately, I wasn't too excited about the paint color in our kitchen, it was a pale yellow. A bit too country for me now. And we only have one spot in the kitchen big enough to hang any artwork, and I have been constantly rotating things from other rooms, trying to figure out what should hang there. I think the yellow was partially holding me back. Some things just can't be mixed with yellow, it just clashed, or just looked all wrong. I found many pieces I would have liked to purchase, but I just can't commit, either because of the price, or the fact that I know I change my mind often. So, I was set in changing things up. I painted the kitchen white, (which, by the way, took me THREE tries to get the perfect white! 1st looked pale violet, (too blue) the next looked too pink (too red!) the third, was just right!) I really like the white paint, it makes it look nice and clean, and really works well with our built ins. Next, I set out to find something fun and bright to hang. (Since, you know, it's a white kitchen, there needed to be some color!) I recently purchased Orla Kiely's book, Pattern. In it, she has a section with many of her patterns, and I just knew they would be perfect to hang in our kitchen. No, I did not rip them out of the book! I simply photocopied them, and cut some mat board, and framed them. Ta da! I love how they look all together. Now all the kitchen needs is Nelson's saucer light. ;) We'll work on that.

it looks GREAT! so you did go for white? :) can't wait to see in person.
This looks great! I am working on some artwork for my bathroom and I love those frames. What brand are they or where did you find them?
Amanda- not sure of the brand, I got them from Aaron Brothers, a frame store in town.
