Thank you all who gave me your opinions on my blog name. It was really helpful! I always thought it was known that the 'Sugar Lander' name came from where I live, Sugar Land. But I guess that's not so! Although I like the idea of my shop and blog being unified in a name, I have decided to keep the name, 'My Life as a Sugar Lander'. :) It would just be odd changing it up.
Well folks, the time has come for us to make our big move to Scotland. We will be leaving on Valentine's Day! Months ago Jason had joked that maybe we would have a nice Valentine's date on the airplane.... I guess he was right! I am gonna miss Sugar Land, well... the USA, so much! I hope me being honest about my feelings about moving, don't come off as me being in complete denial and complaining about us moving all the time. With my sadness comes excitement too, and a good dose of nervousness thrown in. I guess I am just dwelling in my sadness at the moment, because that is the main feeling right now, as I say goodbye to everything I know. With that said, this past week I have been so ready to get there! Let's get there and get started on this next chapter! I want to get settled and start on putting together Noah's room, and the nursery, and the whole house, really... I want to take lots of pictures and find our favorite park to play at and oh so much more! Well then... how about a look forward to some exciting things to come!
-Moving to Scotland, we are super excited to travel. Duh. :) What an opportunity!
-I hope to keep up with my sketch book. I think we can all agree that Europe is way better to sketch then the US. It is just beautiful!
-H&M!! Yay for living in a town that has H&M!
-Other unique shops and places that only the UK has to offer. I know they are out there! Just have to find them...
-Renegade Handmade London fair!! YES! I sold at the Renegade fair in Austin last year, and I can not wait to travel to London to shop their fair... maybe even sell one year? Maybe, you never know.
-If everyone who has mentioned that they want to come visit, actually follows through, we will never be without loved ones lined up to stay with us.
-We will be having our second little boy in Scotland! What a great story to tell him when he gets older.
-A new house to make our home! We will be renting, most likely at least partially furnished, but we did ship all our favorite things over. It's gonna be fun!
-I kinda feel like Jordan, of Oh Happy Day, (she moved to France for fun!) except maybe less stylish... and with not as good pics. :)
Some prayer requests:
-Pray for safe travel, and that I will have peace on the airplane, the whole trip.
-Please pray for Noah and his adjustment to the new place and new food. I am worried my picky eater won't eat anything!! I know he will eat when he is starving, but I can't help but be nervous about this.
-Pray for Jason as he will be in a new job, with new challenges, and new stress.
-Pray for me that I too can adjust, and focus on being Noah's mommy, and that I can serve Jason as his wife during his stressful time.
-Pray we find a new church family and friends!
I definitely plan on keeping up with the blog and my shop once we get settled in Scotland. Not sure exactly when we will have internet, but be sure to keep up on facebook and instagram! (cabaudoin) I have lots of ideas for some new DIY's I want to share, a list of projects I want to do/make for myself + family, and of course there will be plenty of posts/pictures of our new home/travels/and every day life. Thank you all for following along!

So excited for you and this new adventure, Casey! Prayers being sent your way. xo.
Wow - I can't believe it's happening already. You've been such a trooper - with being pregnant and preparing for such a big move. It is exciting though, and I can't wait to read and see everything you have to share from over there. Praying for all the adjustments! Bon voyage!
Not sure how I came across your blog...but I have enjoyed it! Just wanted to wish you well during your upcoming travels... Can't wait to start seeing pictures from Scotland!
Europe is a good place to live!! Not to weird!! Trust a spanish girl!
I haven't been in Scotland, neither in Austin... but this is a new adventure your family will enjoy ! Furthermore, you don't need to learn any languages ! No trouble with Noah.
Have a good travell!! good luck!
eep! so exciting! it will be fun to watch your new life unfold :)
i'm sure you've mentioned this in other posts, so i'm sorry for being unaware... but what is the reason for the big transcontinental move?
Good luck with everything!
best of luck to you. i know you are going to have such an adventure!
OH MY GOSH! I'm from Sugar Land too. I've been reading your blog for a few months, never knowing where the name came from. My dad still lives in the house where I grew up in the Sugar Lakes sub division. I live in the Midwest now and people laugh when I tell them where I'm from.
Congrats and good luck with the move...what an exciting time.
thank you all!
janis - we are moving for my husbands job - oil field.
heather{the lovely cupboard} - i grew up in Sugar Mill! not too far from Sugar Lakes! how fun!
