Noah started Nursery (pre k) last week. He will have 2 school years of Nursery, then start Primary One, (Kindergarten). He will be starting Primary One at 5 years old, instead of 6, which I'm not sure about, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
In the weeks leading up to his first day of school, we were able to go visit his class for a day, where he could play, and he loved it, so I was pretty sure his first day would go smoothly, and it did. He was happy to wear his backpack, and was even more excited that he has a special hook and shoe cubby (they switch to indoor shoes) right when he walks into the doors. Nursery is only 2 hours, and in the afternoon. It would be perfect if it were 3 hours, and in the morning, so I wouldn't have to wake Asher from his nap to pick Noah up, but he will have full days of school soon enough, so this schedule is working out well. On his first day he wanted me to stay with him, but at the same time, was looking around in awe of all the exciting stations and activities there was for him in his class room. He cried when I came to pick him up, when the teacher wouldn't let him run to me. All the kids sit on a rug and wait until the teacher excuses them. After talking about it, the next day he was so proud of the fact that he knew he needed to wait, and he did it perfectly! I am so proud of Noah and his first days. I didn't even cry, which I thought I would!

It still surprises, and excites me when I see Noah conquer a new skill. He just started fully dressing himself. He has done this for awhile, but always needed help putting his shirt over his head. He has now conquered that fear/skill, and it is pretty cute when he picks his own clothes out. He has also started going to the bathroom on the big potty. Still working on this, but he can now awkwardly climb on the potty, and then kinda get down. He has been known to fall into the toilet while getting off. :) His vocabulary is changing too. His favorite phrase right now, when he doesn't get his way, when he is frustrated, says, (in a very teenager like voice) 'awe man!' His favorite pig, named Boudain, (boo-da) has always been called, 'Boo-a'. Now he says 'Boo-na'. He says 'st' words correctly now, and says banana instead of bana. His favorite colors are blue and red, and he often reminds us of that. He is fiercely independent, and can get very frustrated when things aren't going his way. This can be challenging for me, especially with my patience with him. But he is also the sweetest little boy. He also still has a lot of innocense in him, which I love, and want to protect. We were watching a Disney movie, and there were 'bad guys' in it. He kept asking me why were they bad, why didn't they like Cinderella (yep, we were watching a princess movie!) why did they want to be mean to her? He isn't into super heros really, so I think that has prevented him from really getting into the good guy, bad guy stuff. He still loves cars, and construction zones. He thinks Mator lives in Big Ben.
I love this little dude! I can't believe he is going to school, even if it is two hours. We are so blessed!
