We had a great day celebrating Jason, and thinking of our own dads, this Father's Day. The weather was perfectly warm/cool (one minute it's cloudy, (cold!) the next the sun is out (warm!) ) and we went to some Highland Games. Noah is so funny these days. I love that he now expresses how excited he is about something. I told him the night before we were going to the games, and he did his typical excited dance, sticking his tongue out, shaking his head and body, exclaiming, 'I love the Highland Games!' He had no idea what it was. We enjoyed some fair rides, watching bagpipe bands perform, log toss, and dance competitions, log carving, golfing, (I think Noah is falling in love with that game, just like his dad is!) and some good food.
Our Noah is a tender soul. He is timid, and scared of rides and fun things, especially when there are other children around. We paid for two rides for him, and then he didn't want to get on. Including these swings. He was really scared. But we kept talking to him about it, and finally he decided to try it. As you can see in the last photo, he overcame his fear, and loved it. Went on it a second time! He was on a trampoline bouncy thing, and another little kid bounced and Noah fell down. He didn't hurt himself, but he just laid there, and looked at us in shock and was upset, but just kept laying there, while kids bounced around him! I think he feels like he has been done wrong when another kid interferes with him. I am pretty sure this will be his main challenge when he goes to school. Other kids will do things he doesn't like, and he needs to learn how to deal with that!
We had a great day hanging out with Jason/dada, and now he is back to it and in Norway for a few days for work. He is such a hardworking man, and is great at his job, which provides for our family. He comes home, (being stressed all day!) and hops right into being their daddy and playing with them, feeding them, putting Noah to bed. I couldn't ask for a better father to our boys. We love you my sweet!
