Noah starts nursery (preschool) in August, and (especially) after visiting his school last week, I am really excited for him. He seems excited too. I get to take him to meet his teacher and visit his classroom tomorrow, and I can't wait for him to see it. He will love everything there is to do in there! When I talk to him about school, he is especially concerned about where the potties are, so we will definitely locate those for him, to wash his concerns away. :) Our big boy shows me just how much he is growing up every day! Here are a few thoughts on Noah, at 3.5 years old:
-He knows simple addition. We have taught him with his hands that 5 (fingers) plus 5 (fingers) equals 10... but the other day he had crayons, 3 in a row, and 2 in a row, and he said, "plus 2 plus 3 ee-pulls 5." So proud!
-He confidently says he can spell. "a. l. u. w. v. Dat pells truck." Close bud. Close.
-He still is picky about food, but we are slowly working on it. Many times it will end in big tears and screaming, but then he surprises me and licks the food, or takes a bite. He now likes sweet potato fries, rotisserie chicken, and he has at one time eaten noodles, (one time deal, I have tried again) and pizza.
-He is independent. Wants to do everything by himself. Open things, get his food out, get in the car, brush his teeth, etc.
-He likes to clean up for the most part. He now gets some money for his piggy bank, and is saving for a toy he saw on TV. When we buy that toy, we will take one of his toys he doesn't play with anymore and give it to a child who doesn't have toys.
-He still stays in his bed in the morning when he wakes up. He never gets out and opens the door to get us. He will just yell my name when he is ready to get up.
-His favorite colors are blue and red.
-He wants a construction dump truck birthday party next.
-He knows our address.
-I love when he gets excited! (About chocolate, going to the park, or something else fun) He shakes or runs in circles or flips around on his bed, kicking his legs fast, moving his head from side to side, sticking his tongue out.
-He has started talking to Asher, not me. And he lets me know it. "I'm totting to Asher, not eew mama".
-He has started saying words correctly. 'Bana' is now banana, 'dop' is now stop.
-I haven't really used any UK/Scottish words around the house, but I have started to teach him some he may come across at school. Trousers = pants. Pants = underwear. Garden = backyard. Biscuit = cookie. etc. It is really cute when he says them.
-He says the cutest things now, like an adult... or at least someone older. "Dat makes sense". "Whatever!"
This big boy of ours is so awesome! What a treat, and gift to be his mama. I love him and will be crying a lot on his first day of school! (and it is only 2 hours, ha!)
