Today, I randomly opened my old email, (to 102 junk emails) and received a Christmas email, from my professor, Gerald, in France. He sent one of his sketches, along with it. Gerald is a beautiful sketcher, and can really capture a feeling in them. I love them. He even uses wine, or dirty rain water, by dipping a paint brush in them, for shading. While we were in France, one of our grades was a sketch book, that we took everywhere, and were given time at each site to sketch. Below are some of my favorites of mine. I didn't think of taking pictures of what I sketched till almost the 4th month, but I got some, even though they may not be the exact view of where I was while I sketched. I experimented with different mediums, wine, scrap paper, pencil, and pen. I wish Texas was more interesting to sketch! I miss it! Getting ready to sketch... in the cold. I wasn't to happy during this outing. I was freezing, and the last thing I wanted to do is sit outside, in the wind, without gloves on, sketching an old church. But I did. And I liked it.
